Artwork to Feed The Hungry

Day 2

During Lent, and as Catholics, we have chosen a 40 day Lenten project to create one artwork of a fish per day.  On a first come, first serve basis, we encourage you to send us a check made out to SVDP (St Vincent DePaul Society at St Philip Parish for their food pantry and vegetable garden.) For a donation of no less than $10, we will send you the day's artwork as a thank you. It is a way for us to pay alms with our gifts from God, and for others to help Feed the Hungry. All money raised will be used to provide food to the needy of our area, regardless of their faith.  Our food pantry works closely with the RI Food Bank and other food providers for those in need.  Again, if you like our art, and want to help those less fortunate, this is a great way to make a difference and bring original artwork into your home.  We will be donating all postage costs for this project, as well as our time.  Some days Christine will create the painting, and some days Joe will post his, but all art will be original and in a standard size for framing.

Please email, text or call us to be the first to donate.

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days

Day 30

It has been a very long challenge, and so very rewarding.  I cannot thank all of you enough for the kind words and support as I grew through this process.  2015 is off to a great start and I look forward to this challenge again next year.

Most sincerely,
Christine

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days

Day 29

This is my last painting in the deep value series, and tomorrow I will be finished with the challenge. It will be bittersweet, but until then, enjoy.

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days

Day 28

It was a close one tonight as we did not get in from a job site until 9pm. I could have gone another hour on this piece but I would have missed my midnight deadline. Better luck tomorrow.

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days

Day 27

A bit bolder line work was on my agenda for this piece. We received about 24 inches of snow in our neck of the woods and it is still coming down in big flakes. I was happy to snug in my studio today!

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days

Day 26

Some of you may remember the 1970's movie version of Dr Doolittle.  In it was the "PushMe PullYou" which was really a llama with two front ends that connected in the middle. That best describes what it is like for me to paint in abstract. I push colors and shapes to make them important and then pull others back to tone them down...alot. I am averaging about two and a half hours per painting, but it is an enjoyable struggle the whole time, kind of like play wrestling with a little kid. It isn't really hard, it usually makes you happy, and you are exhausted at the end if you were really into it.
