Poppies

Today's Project...

In my attempt to become proficient with watercolor, I decided to give Yupo paper a try during a class taught by Gail Armstrong at the Providence Art Club.  Yupo is a polypropylene sheet which is acid free and great for abstracts and loose impressionistic work.  As a control freak, I was challenged by its constant movement of color while drying, but once I learned to layer the colors quickly so that I did not "lift" them off the sheet, it was a lot of fun.  Enjoy!

30 Day Painting Challenge

Today's Project... Tea Cup & Dogwood

The final project for my January daily watercolor challenge & I am relieved to be done for a while.  I was blessed to have so many family and friends help support this effort by sharing my work with others, and the many purchases as well.  The most important part of this challenge was the development of my new love of watercolor.  I am so excited to continue with this medium as I explore more delicate subjects and sweet still lifes in 2014.

Thank you again for everyone's appreciation and support of my work.  It does an artist good!

PS - This one was sold before it was painted, with two folks on the waiting list. More teacups are in my future for sure, so please continue to follow my blog.
